In depth about Sagittarius

Sagittarius is the sign of the seeker and the quester. Represented by the Archer who shoots arrows far into the distance, Sag symbolizes the restless, far-ranging intellect that tries to understand the big questions of life, like 'Why are we here?' and 'What is my purpose?' Philosophy, religion, science, education -- and all the studies that examine the big picture and strive to grasp our place within it -- are ruled by Sagittarius. Sagittarians (born approximately November 23 to December 21) are generally at home in the world. They can speak with just about anyone about anything. They are insatiable gatherers of information and will travel to the ends of the Earth, or read voraciously, or ask incessantly, when looking for more knowledge. An adventurous, exploratory motif is very strong. Natural students and skilled teachers, Sagittarians thrive in an atmosphere of intellectual inquiry. As a fire sign, Sagittarius is restless. In their youth, Sagittarians are often involved with sports or are 'party animals' who move from one entertainment to the next. A natural buoyancy is a part of the Sagittarian personality. Optimism comes rather easily. Able to see the silver lining in most dark clouds, Sagittarians can cheer up other people also. Sagittarians also get overextended rather easily. They tend to take on more than they can handle because they assume the best time frame, circumstances, and so on. (Sagittarians don't really believe in Murphy's Laws, which were probably written by a Capricorn anyway.) With their openness to opportunity and expectation of good things, Sagittarians are often considered 'lucky.' When possibilities drop into their lives, it is usually more because they have been expecting something and so notice and take advantage of what fortune sends their way. An active sense of humor is common for Sagittarius. Most are able to appreciate the absurdities of life and some are noted for their repartee or ability to tickle people's funny bones. Verbal expression is very important to Sagittarius. Some Sags are a bit verbose, but most have an appreciation of language. Some are linguistically skilled and fields such as teaching, writing, publishing, translating, journalism, the law, and the dissemination of information are very natural for Sag. Honesty is a strong impulse and some Sags are prone to foot-in-mouth experiences due to excessive bluntness. Because Sags tend to focus on the large perspective, they can sometimes leap to conclusions or miss important details. Generally, however, they love to learn from any and all people and sources. -- Maritha Pottenger. This information came from Yahoo!.
